Fred Strader

Frederick M. Strader is retired president and chief executive officer of Textron Systems Corporation, a Textron Inc. company, holding that position from January 2010 until Dec 31st, 2012.

Prior to that position, Mr. Strader served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Textron Systems Corporation, which he joined when AAI Corporation and its parent, United Industrial Corporation (UIC), were acquired by Textron in 2007. Mr. Strader joined AAI in 2001 and served as President and CEO of both UIC and AAI Corporation from 2003 – 2007.

Before joining AAI, Mr. Strader had a 21-year career with United Defense, LP and its parent company, FMC Corporation. Mr. Strader had been vice president of United Defense and general manager of the company’s Armament Systems Division.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Strader was division manager of FMC’s Agriculture Machinery Division, manager of strategic planning for FMC, and served in a number of planning, financial, and manufacturing positions within the company’s Steel Products Division. He joined FMC as a corporate financial analyst in 1980.

Mr. Strader earned a master of business administration degree in finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of arts degree from Ripon College. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Strader served on active duty for four years with the U.S. Army, followed by 22 years as a reserve officer in the Army Acquisition Corps.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of J.J. Haines, a privately held distribution company; Versar Corporation, a publicly-traded engineering management and services company; and HDT Global, a privately held defense company.
